Crafts & Sewing Class Assumption of Risk + Liability Waiver

ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

By participating in crafts/sewing classes, workshops, camps, open studio sessions, or other related activities (“Activities”) offered by Perpetual Idea Project LLC (“Pip Crafts & Sewing”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in sewing and textile-related activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Cuts, punctures, or lacerations from scissors, rotary cutters, seam rippers, pins, needles, sewing machine needles, and other sharp tools

Burns from irons, steam, hot surfaces, heat tools, or heated equipment

Injury from sewing machines or other mechanical equipment, including finger or hand injuries

Trips, slips, falls, or other injuries caused by cords, tools, furniture, materials, or movement within the workspace

Allergic reactions or sensitivities to fabrics, dust, fibers, dyes, adhesives, cleaning products, or other materials

Eye injuries from broken needles, pins, flying debris, or tool malfunction

Muscle strain, repetitive motion injuries, or discomfort from prolonged sitting, cutting, lifting, or repetitive hand use

Injuries caused by the actions or negligence of other participants

I understand that these risks may result in minor or serious injury.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation.

2. Safety Rules

I agree to follow all instructions provided by Pip staff and instructors, including safety guidance regarding tools and equipment.

I understand that Pip reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or creates risk for others, without refund.

3. Medical Responsibility

I certify that I (or my child, if applicable) am physically able to participate.

I understand Pip is not responsible for providing medical care beyond basic first aid supplies or emergency response contact if needed.

I authorize Pip to seek emergency medical care if reasonably necessary, and I understand I am financially responsible for any resulting costs.

4. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and discharge Pip Coffee + Clay, Perpetual Idea Project LLC, its owners, officers, employees, instructors, contractors, agents, volunteers, landlords, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the Activities, including claims arising from ordinary negligence.

This release does not apply where prohibited by law or to gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

5. Equipment Use

I understand that sewing machines, irons, cutting tools, and related equipment must be used only as instructed.

Pip may restrict access to certain tools based on age, skill level, or instructor discretion.

Participants may not modify, repair, or misuse equipment.

6. Personal Property

Pip is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, including sewing machines, tools, fabric, garments, electronics, or other belongings brought onto the premises.

7. Minor Participants

If signing on behalf of a minor, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian and consent to the minor’s participation.

I acknowledge the risks described above and agree to these terms on behalf of the minor to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Acknowledgment

By checking the box in the form above, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this waiver and all policies outlined above.
